Italian Ground Beef Pasta with Mexican Twist

There are a lot of easy ground beef recipes that are readily available on the Internet. Some of these recipes are basic ones which are relatively very easy to prepare, while some are more into the intermediate level that takes quite a knack to finish.

Ground beef can be cooked on almost any cooking technique. This can be attributed to beef’s versatility. Whether cooked with just salt and pepper, or adorned with fancy ingredients, the distinctive taste of beef always comes out on top.

Beef is a staple meat in almost every corners of the world. This recipe adds a bit of Mexican zest into the beef. A pasta dish with a rather Mexican take on it.

Mexican dish is not exactly known for its pasta recipes. However, Mexican cuisine have one staple ingredient, and that is beef. This dish will combine the Mexican treatment of beef, with a rather European touch of pasta, along with a handful of exciting ingredients that will surely bring delight your palate.

This is an easy recipe, so you will only need some basic ingredients and a couple of vegetables. The preparation and cooking method is already relatively simple, which means that even the most novice of chefs can create this wonderful dish.


This Mexican Pasta dish will need the following ingredients:
1 pound ground beef
1 teaspoon ground cumin
½ teaspoon salt
1 can tomato sauce
1 cup shredded Mexican blend cheese
1 cup of vegetable mix with corn, red peppers, black beans
8 ounces fettuccine pasta


The first thing you have to deal with is the ground beef. Take a large skillet and cook the beef over medium-high heat. Make sure to occasionally stir it so that the beef will not stick on the bottom. Stirring it will also crumble the beef which makes for a good consistency.

The ground beef should be done when it is brown or when there are no pink spots on it. Drain the skillet for excess fat. Put the skillet back on medium-low heat and add the vegetables, cumin, and salt for taste. A dash of black pepper is also recommended, although not required. Stir until the vegetables are properly cooked. Once done, stir in the tomato sauce and a cup of water. Bring the mixture to a boil.

Cooking the pasta is also easy. Using a medium skillet, pour in the fettuccine, add water and salt to taste. Adding half a tablespoon of oil will keep the pasta from sticking to each other. Cook until pasta is tender.

Once the pasta is tender, take a serving and put it in a plate. Pour some beef sauce on top and sprinkle it with cheese. Serve.


Adding some spice to the beef sauce will add some interesting twist to the dish. With regards to pasta, if fettuccine is not available, almost any type of pasta will be appropriate. Spaghetti or macaroni would do just fine.
